A considered evening at Velour Table

An evening at Velour

Our story

A considered way to dine.

Velour Table began with a simple idea: a beautiful meal should make room for the people around it. In a small, softly lit dining room, we bring seasonal ingredients, careful cooking and generous hosting to the same table.

Head chef Mara Ellis follows the market rather than a fixed script. A handful of excellent ingredients, a measured hand and a little curiosity shape each plate. Our hosts look after the rest, from a thoughtful pairing to the quiet moment before the next course.

A thoughtful kitchen

Led by the season. Finished with care.

Our menu begins with produce selected for flavour and a conversation about how to use it well. Stocks, sauces and pastry are prepared in small batches, with the team tasting together before the dining room opens.

We prefer a few clear elements to a crowded plate. A crisp skin, a gently cooked vegetable and a sauce with enough brightness can tell a more complete story than an elaborate collection of garnishes.

The same care extends to dietary requirements and alcohol-free pairings. Tell us what you need, and we will explain the choices available for your evening.

What guides us

Four simple commitments.

01

Seasonal by nature

A small menu gives the kitchen room to follow what tastes good now. We discuss substitutions clearly and choose ingredients for their character.

02

Care in the details

From a warm plate to a well-timed next course, small practical decisions make an evening feel easy. We prepare carefully so guests can relax.

03

A generous welcome

A dietary question, a quieter table or a celebration that needs a little planning: thoughtful hosting begins with listening.

04

Room to linger

We leave space for conversation. A meal is more than its courses; it is also the time shared between them.
